Why the jets flew over?

The author has the jets fly over at the same time becuase the jets are loud and make a lot a noise, usually when you think of jets they are very distracting and its hard to keep focus on one thing when you have this huge distraction coming across and distrubting you. Montag was just going through how he realized his wife was taking the sleeping pills which is a very sad thing to discover about someones wife. If Iwere in montag's postion I would be very upset and hurt by this situation if I were to be in Montag's shoes. The jets can kind of make a connection to Montag by showing how Montag feels, he is confused and has a lot of things going on at once. This is like the jets becuae of the comotion that the jets make, I think the jets were just a comparrision in the book to let the reader know how disturbing it was for Montag to find out that his wife was taking these sleeping pills and how ashamed he is to find out she did really overdose, and to know that she is going to deny the situation makes the situation a lot more worse for Montag. So basically the jets flying over, is relation that was made between Montag and the problems he has to face ahead.

Jenn with 2 n's,
Good thinking here! You show some real insight into Montag when you say he is "confused and has a lot of things going on at once...like the jets bacause of the commotion that the jets make." Just be careful of spelling, grammar before you post.

Jenn,
I think you made a really good connection between the jets flying over and the situation Montag is in. "The jets can kind of make a connection to Montag by showing how Montag feels, he is confused and has a lot of things going on at once." While reading the book, I wasn't able to make that connection, but your explanation for why the author made the jets fly over makes a lot of sense. Good job!
